ABOUT US
Sefer ve Sefel was established in the early 1980's as one of the original bookstore/coffee shop enterprises of its day. While the coffee shop has long gone, Sefer ve Sefel continues to be, as quoted in Lonely Planet "the best English bookstore in the Middle East"! Our stock of over 26,000 books spans almost every genre imaginable. Conveniently located in the center of Jerusalem, Sefer ve Sefel is a great stop for both locals and tourists to trade, buy and discuss everything related to the written word!
Michael and Zia Rose bought Sefer ve Sefel in 2015 and have brought along with them their own unique charm while staying true to the welcoming allure of the landmark shop. Zia's love for books is clear in her instant rapport with new and regular customers alike and she is always ready to recommend what is sure to be your next favorite book. Michael lives to discuss all things relating to Judaica, history and politics and challenges customers to stump him on any of those subjects. The Roses live in Beit Shemesh with their four beautiful daughters and several thousand books.
When you buy books at Sefer ve Sefel they're yours to keep of course. However, we do provide another option!
You can bring your books back to Sefer ve Sefel and get a partial refund in store credit. Store credit means credit towards your next batch of books. We do not give partial credit, or any credit, in cash.
Here's how it goes:
SEFER VE SEFEL GIVES 60% RETURN CREDIT ON USED BOOKS AND 50% ON NEW BOOKS BOUGHT AT THE STORE!!
BOOKS RETURNED UNDER THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES WILL NOT RECEIVE FULL RETURN CREDIT:
* New books returned more than one year after purchase date.
* Books that are torn or severely dog-eared.
* Books that are food-stained or moldy.
* Books that are warped or water damaged.
Credit for these books as well as books purchased from Sefer Ve Sefel's previous ownership will be determined at the discretion of the store management.
